Inquirers Class

During the academic year (August through Pascha), Saint Innocent Cathedral hosts regular bi-weekly Tuesday night meetings for anyone interested in learning more about Orthodox Christianity, its history and practices, and how to become an Orthodox Christian.

This class alternates weekly with our Adult Orthodox Education class and is specifically designed for those who are new and curious about Orthodox Christianity.

While Orthodox faithful are always welcome, they should be aware that the topics covered in these classes are aimed at individuals with little to no background in Orthodox Christianity and are less structured, focusing more on questions and answers than on direct instruction.

Adult Orthodox Education

During the academic year (August through Pascha), Saint Innocent Cathedral holds regular bi-weekly Tuesday night meetings for Orthodox faithful interested in learning more about our faith and Orthodox Christian life.

Past topics have included the study of scripture, a series on the major feasts of the Church and their meaning, a series on marriage and its purpose, a series on the lives of the saints, a series on the Beatitudes, and more.

These classes are free to all who are interested in learning more. You do not need to be Orthodox, whether you are new or a cradle Orthodox, to benefit from them.

Teen Group

Saint Innocent Cathedral hosts a Teen Group twice a month, on the first and third Thursday of each month during the school year. This group is open to all teenagers in grades 7 to 12. We dedicate time for games and dinner, followed by a discussion period and lessons on how Orthodox life relates to our daily experiences.

We take a break from our regularly scheduled activities during the summer due to traditional subsistence activities and summer travel. However, we occasionally host summer events like the barbecue for the feast day of Saints Peter and Paul, movie events if there are interesting options, or the occasional summer hike and other activities.

Sunday School

St. Innocent Sunday School welcomes children aged four and older to attend our weekly Sunday School classes. Our program’s mission is to impart knowledge about Christ’s love, life, and Church and foster a nurturing environment encouraging spiritual growth and community fellowship among the children.

Each class is designed to be interactive and meaningful, allowing children to explore scripture through stories, songs, and hands-on activities that resonate with their age group.

We invite children to join us, learn, and grow in faith. We believe that every child deserves the chance to experience the joy of Christ’s teachings in a nurturing and loving environment.
